I hate bouncers

It’s already Sunday, 3 am. I have just come back from partying a little bit…a little bit, that’s just right. It seemed like it was going to be a great night. First we were gonna go celebrate a friend’s summer internship at a venture capital fund. Then, after that, the city was gonna be ours… we were supposed to go to a Sternie’s birthday party at a cool place in midtown, nearby Bryant Park.

Nice dinner at an Indian place in the East Village and then to the club. We get there at around midnight and we see the line. We are optimistic. There are about 10 people ahead of us and we are coming to a birthday party organized by our friend at the place. After a 45-minute wait, we leave. I am really pissed off. The stupid bouncers, unfortunately once again, have spoilt the night.

What the heck is wrong with these guys? If they are not going to let anybody in... just tell so, for God's shake! Don’t make people wait in line for 45 minutes as if they were stupid. I understand that Friday and Saturday nights are their time of the week, the time when they feel powerful and with the right to screw people and stuff… but Friday and Saturday nights are also the big nights of the week for many people to chill out and enjoy after five days of tough work. Do they (i.e. the club’s managers) gain anything from such a “policy”? Well, as regards me, they have achieved some great success: I am not coming back ever… some good dollars are gone. As for the bouncers, I wish them the worst for the rest of the week.

It’s frustrating. But it’s just about attitude. I couldn’t believe it today when I saw this stupid bouncer literally telling the guy who was first on the line: “c’mon, tell me something funny”. He did not enjoy the joke that much and laughed at the guy loudly… what an ass!! I am sorry but I can’t play this game. Maybe I have not spent enough time in NY yet but I can’t go to the bouncer and tell him how nice and cool he is (when I fact think the other way around), just to get in…I guess that’s why I am not able to get in places like today’s.

Anyway, we have ended up going to a place in 30th and Park Avenue. It’s taken me some time to be in the mood again (I was so pissed off!) but we have had some fun. Nothing crazy, though. I am back at home, completely sober… for a change hahaha. I will be grateful tomorrow at the managing organizations meeting that I have at 1 pm.

I had to confess myself about this. I feel kind of relieved now...Time to sleep. When you were young by The Killers sounds on Virgin Radio before saying “good night”!

Ciao
